Google Blogoscoped is a blog authored by Philipp Lenssen (born 1977) covering the search engine company Google since 2003.
Blogoscoped reports mainly on product releases but also offers tips and tutorials and tracks any projects of the Mountain View, California company. While the blog concentrates on Google, it has a "Contains 80% Google" stamp, representing the fact that Lenssen also writes about other things that interest him including other search engines, web development, global affairs and even comic book characters.
Lenssen, from Stuttgart, Germany, and co-editor Tony Ruscoe write the vast majority of the posts. Past co-bloggers include Colin Colehour, Terrence Gordon, Tadeusz Szewczyk, Mark Malseed, Justin Pfister, Seth Finkelstein, Brinke Guthrie, Ludwik Trammer and Ionut Alex. Chitu. The blog has an active forum which contains the comments on posts and helps its contributors to share hints on incoming Google products. Several well-known Googlers have participated to the discussions, including Matt Cutts, Kevin Fox, Adam Lasnik, Mihai Parparita and Pamela Fox.[1]
It is linked to from Google's official blog as part of the "What We're Reading" section.,[2] and is consistently in Technorati's list of the top 100 blogs.[3]
John Battelle includes the website in his 2005 book about Google, The Search.
In 2006 Lenssen also wrote the book '55 Ways to Have Fun with Google'. The book was 'born out' of the Google Blogoscoped blog and is available under the Creative Commons.
In April 2008, Lenssen published the book 'Google Apps Hacks'. It presents hacks, workarounds and undocumented tips for Google Docs, Gmail, Google Calendar and other Google applications.
